World's first industrial 5G standard led by China, Germany published

(ECNS) -- The world's first international standard for industrial 5G, titled Industrial Networks – 5G Communication Technology – General Considerations, was officially released Thursday by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Jointly proposed by China and Germany, the standard was developed by experts from multiple countries including the United States, France, and Japan, filling a critical gap in the global industrial 5G standardization landscape.
The deep integration of 5G technology with industrial systems is increasingly recognized as a core driver of the global digital, networked, and intelligent transformation of industry, with the new standard outlining key application scenarios and lifecycle use—from planning and design to construction and optimization—across industrial environments.
The publication establishes a unified technical framework for users, design institutes, and equipment manufacturers worldwide to deploy and implement 5G technology in industrial areas.
It represents a milestone for China in the "5G + Industrial" integration domain and underscores the country's contribution of expertise and solutions to support the digital transformation of global manufacturing.
